01Who I am

My work takes an integrative view, understanding that the nervous, endocrine and digestive systems are in constant communication.

I work mainly with women who want to understand what lies behind certain symptoms, behaviour patterns or difficulties related to their health and wellbeing.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

My psychological approach is based mainly on CBT.

  • When the case calls for it

    Trauma-informed approach

I bring in tools and concepts from a trauma-informed approach when the person and the case call for it.

  • Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI)

A perspective that broadens our understanding of how the body’s different systems interact with one another and with the context a person lives in.

02What I offer

Psychology and PNI: two paths that can complement each other.

My work covers two main areas.

01

Psychology

Therapy sessions based mainly on CBT, tailored to each person’s particular needs.

Where relevant, I bring in a trauma-informed perspective, considering how certain experiences can shape emotional, cognitive, behavioural and physiological patterns.

Individual psychotherapy
02

Psychoneuroimmunology

An approach aimed at understanding how the body’s different systems interact, and the factors that can influence them: nutrition, sleep, stress, physical activity, habits, context, behaviour and other relevant factors.

It’s not about looking for a single cause for a symptom, but about widening the lens and understanding how many different variables interact.

03My story

Before supporting others through these processes, I too had to learn to see my body differently.

For around six years, I lived with amenorrhoea.

At the same time, I also experienced gut health problems and dysbiosis, and I decided to begin my own process of searching, learning and understanding how the different dimensions of health relate to one another.

This experience had a profound impact on the way I understand clinical work. It allowed me to experience first-hand something I now consider fundamental:

A symptom does not exist in isolation from a person’s context.

My personal story is not the explanation for my professional training, nor is it meant to become a universal experience.

But it does form part of how I built my perspective: with curiosity, critical thinking and an ever-broader understanding of how body, mind, behaviour and context interact.

04My perspective

I don’t seek to reduce a person to a diagnosis.

I’m interested in understanding:

  1. 01What is happening.
  2. 02When it began.
  3. 03What factors may be involved.
  4. 04What patterns persist.
  5. 05How the nervous system responds.
  6. 06What role behaviours play.
  7. 07How context and habits contribute.
  8. 08And what resources each person has for change.

That’s why my work doesn’t start from a single explanation.

I start from the person.

05Service 01 · Psychology

Individual psychotherapy.

A space for individual psychological support, grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

CBT makes it possible to work on the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviours and consequences, and on the patterns that may be keeping certain difficulties going.

Treatment is adapted to each person’s needs and, when clinically appropriate, may include a trauma-informed perspective.

Select each point in the cycle to explore it.

Thoughts
What you tell yourself: interpretations, beliefs and expectations about what is happening.
Emotions
What you feel in response, and how it also shows up in your body.
Behaviours
What you do, or stop doing, based on what you think and feel.
Consequences
What happens next, and how it can sustain or change the pattern.

CBT works on this relationship and on the patterns that may be keeping certain difficulties going.

The cycle

A two-way relationship

Four parts that influence one another.

What can we work on?

Depending on each case:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Emotional regulation
  • Behaviour patterns
  • Binge eating and relationship with food (eating disorders)
  • Body image difficulties
  • Perfectionism and high self-expectations
  • Repetitive thoughts
  • Habits and behaviours
  • Stress-related difficulties
  • Stress-related digestive symptoms (for example, irritable bowel)
  • Amenorrhoea
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Support with autoimmune conditions
  • Processes related to women’s health
  • Other psychological concerns

My aim

It isn’t simply to help you “feel better”.

It’s to work towards understanding what is sustaining whatever is causing you distress today, and to develop concrete tools to change it.

06Service 02 · Psychoneuroimmunology

An integrative view of health and the body.

Psychoneuroimmunology sets out to study the communication between the body’s different systems and how they can be influenced by internal and external factors.

From this perspective, we can look at different dimensions. Select each one to explore it.

Nervous system
Stress, regulation, sleep and adaptive response.
Endocrine system
Hormones and physiological processes related to metabolism and reproduction.
Immune system
Inflammation, immune response and communication with other systems.
Microbiota and gut
The relationship between gut health, metabolism, immunity and gut–brain communication.
Behaviour and lifestyle
Nutrition, physical activity, rest, habits and context.

Five dimensions

A body in dialogue

These dimensions communicate with one another. Select one to see what we look at from that angle.

0 of 5 dimensions explored

The aim is to integrate these dimensions without reducing a complex problem to a single cause.

07Psychology + PNI

When we need to widen the lens.

There are situations in which working from a single dimension alone may not be enough.

A person may be under stress, have certain behavioural patterns, sleep poorly, show changes in their eating habits and, at the same time, experience physical symptoms.

  • This doesn’t meanthat “it’s all in your head”.
  • Nor does it meanthat there’s a single biological cause.

It means that the body works as a dynamic system, in which different processes are interconnected.

My training in psychology and my PNI perspective allow me to integrate both approaches when appropriate.

A minute for you

Before we go on, a pause.

Let me suggest something brief: three slow breaths. Follow the movement of the circles, without forcing anything. If at any point it feels uncomfortable, return to your natural rhythm.

  • 4 seconds breathing in
  • 2 holding
  • 6 breathing out

When you’re ready

0 of 3 breaths

08Who is this space for?

Designed especially for women.

Do any of these statements resonate with you? Mark the ones that feel true for you.

It isn’t a test or a diagnosis, just an invitation to reflect. Nothing you mark is saved or sent.

09About the process

There’s no single protocol that fits every woman.

The first step is to understand what is happening. From there, we set goals and decide which tools may be most appropriate.

The process may include:

  1. 01

    Assessment

Understanding your history, symptoms, context and current patterns.

  2. 02

    Case formulation

Organising the information to understand which factors may be contributing to the difficulty and keeping it going.

  3. 03

    Therapeutic goals

Defining what we want to change and the direction we want to work towards.

  4. 04

    Intervention

Applying psychological tools and/or strategies suited to the chosen approach.

  5. 05

    Follow-up

Reviewing changes and adjusting the process as things progress.

10Frequently asked questions

What I’m often asked.

Any other questions? Message me and we can talk it through.

How do sessions work?

They’re online, by video call (Google Meet), and in Spanish. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and they’re weekly or fortnightly depending on each case. I work with people who live in different countries.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a space to understand what’s going on and to put your emotional and hormonal history into context.

I explain in detail how I work, and we go over your reason for consulting, your history and whatever you bring to the session. Along the way, I use concrete examples from your own situation so you can understand what may be influencing it and which paths we could take as a shared plan of work.

It’s also a first meeting to get to know each other: I assess whether I can support you and whether my approach suits your case, and you get to see how I work and decide, with no commitment, whether it’s what you’re looking for or what you feel you need.

The idea is that you leave this first session with more clarity about what’s happening to you, where to start, and whether this is the right space for you.

How much do sessions cost, and how do I book?

Appointments are arranged via WhatsApp, where we’ll also let you know the current fees. The first session lasts 50 minutes and costs the same as the following ones.

Is your psychotherapy based solely on CBT?

CBT is the main approach in my work. Depending on the particular needs of each case, I may bring in complementary tools, including a trauma-informed perspective when appropriate.

Does PNI replace psychotherapy?

No. They are different approaches. PNI can complement an integrative view of certain processes, whereas psychotherapy specifically addresses psychological and behavioural aspects.

Do you only work with women?

My communication is especially geared towards women’s health, although whether I can work with someone depends on their reason for seeking help and on whether my approach is suitable for their case.

Is a PNI consultation medical?

No. My professional training is in psychology. The PNI perspective I offer sits within my field of training and does not replace medical assessment or treatment when these are needed.

Does PNI aim to find “the cause” of every symptom?

No. One of the foundations of my approach is to avoid reductionist explanations. Symptoms can be related to many different factors and call for an individual assessment.

Let’s keep talking
